Editorial Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

MzansiMali exists to make money concepts understandable, practical and approachable for ordinary South Africans. This policy explains how we aim to create and maintain trustworthy financial education.

Our editorial principles

  • Clarity before jargon. We explain unfamiliar terms in plain language and avoid complexity that does not help the reader.
  • Education before products. We explain the underlying idea so readers can ask better questions before comparing products or providers.
  • Practical South African context. We use realistic everyday examples without assuming that every household has the same income, responsibilities or choices.
  • Educational independence. Our conclusions should follow the evidence and the needs of the reader, not the preferences of an advertiser or commercial partner.
  • Transparent sourcing. When a claim depends on an external source, we aim to identify a useful, credible source and make clear when information may change.
  • Corrections matter. When a meaningful error is identified, we review it and correct the content as promptly and clearly as practical.
  • No shame, hype or guarantees. We do not use fear, status or get-rich-quick promises to make financial education feel urgent or exciting.

Sources and examples

We prefer primary or authoritative sources when they are available. Examples may simplify real situations so that one idea is easier to understand. A simplified example is an illustration, not a prediction or promise.

Education, not personalised advice

MzansiMali provides general financial education. We do not assess a reader’s complete circumstances and do not provide personalised financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Read our Financial Education Disclaimer for more detail.

Commercial relationships

If MzansiMali uses an affiliate link, sponsorship or other commercial relationship, that relationship must be disclosed clearly. Commercial compensation must not automatically determine our editorial conclusions, comparisons or rankings.

Corrections and feedback

If you believe something is inaccurate or unclear, please use the details on our Contact page. We will review specific, evidence-based feedback and update material when a correction is warranted.
